A Destination Wedding at Villa Buonvisi, Tuscany

There are places you photograph, and then there are places that stay with you. Villa Buonvisi in Tuscany is one of those places for us.

We spent almost a week with Ida, Tobias and their wonderful crew, documenting a four-day wedding celebration filled with sunshine, long lunches, beautiful dinners, laughter, music and all the magic of an Italian summer.

Glamorous, chic, joyful and completely sun-soaked – this destination wedding in Tuscany had it all.

Villa Buonvisi, just outside Lucca, is a truly special setting for a wedding. Surrounded by olive groves, cypress trees and the rolling Tuscan landscape, the villa has that rare combination of grandeur and intimacy. It feels effortlessly beautiful, while still feeling like a home.

And for us, Villa Buonvisi holds an especially special place in our hearts.

We have hosted several creative workshops and retreats here over the years, and through those visits we have had the privilege of getting to know Ida and Tobias – their warmth, generosity and deeply nurturing spirit. To then be invited back to document their own wedding, at the place they call home, meant more to us than we could possibly put into words.

As wedding photographers, we love celebrations that unfold over several days. The anticipation, the quiet moments, the people arriving from all over the world, the long tables, the dancing, the unexpected moments in between. A wedding becomes so much more than a single day, and we want the photographs to tell that whole story.

For this Villa Buonvisi wedding, we photographed everything from intimate preparations and quiet encounters to long dinners, celebrations under the Tuscan sun and a very joyful party. The result is a collection of images that we hope brings you back to the feeling of those days – not just how they looked.

Villa Buonvisi has become one of those places we are always happy to return to. A place filled with beauty, history, creativity and people we have grown very fond of.

And somehow, even after four days of celebrating, photographing and laughing, it still feels impossible to fit the whole story into one small collection of photographs.

This is just a glimpse.
